We highly recommend the Daybreak app by Hello Sunday Morning. It is an evidence-based mobile app designed to help you change your relationship with alcohol. It offers 24/7 peer support, trackers, and guided activities to reduce or stop drinking.
The Daybreak app is free for users in Australia, as it is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. For international users, the app costs approximately $12.99 AUD per month or $119.99 AUD annually.
MIND THE SIP
Mind The Sip is a personalized alcohol reduction app designed to help you drink more mindfully, track consumption, and foster a lifestyle free from hangovers and regret.
It provides articles, resources such as a personalised planner, and tracking tools to help you manage or reduce your alcohol intake. The free version provides access to resources, a calendar and a 21-day trial of the premium version.
For premium features, including tracking, community access and daily accountability messages, there is a monthly fee of $14.99 or an annual fee of $99.99 (as of January 2026).
MYDRINKAWARE
This UK-based app has a tracker and alcohol consumption calculator. It has extras such as monitoring sleep, calories and spending.
The app doesn't include community forums or many additional resources; however, it is user-friendly and worthwhile if you simply want to set goals and track your progress. The best bonus is that it’s free with no hidden costs.
REFRAME
Reframe is a comprehensive app, developed in the US and based on neuroscience, that provides you with a drink tracker, daily guidance, in-depth courses and an online community.
It has a large library of resources, including videos, articles, meditations and even games. The app costs US$100 per year, with optional one-on-one coaching at US$80 per session, unlimited messaging with a coach for an additional US$100 per month, and even AI coaching for US$10 per month.
It has a seven-day free trial.
Stop Drinking Fast Program
A self-paced, 35-step online program delivered in five modules, developed by NZ based Mindset Transformation coach and hypnotherapist, Sarah Kelt. The program includes coaching videos, hypnotherapy recordings, daily messages and community support (optional). Additional personal coaching available if required.
This Naked Mind
A USA based website, created by down-to-earth and very easy to follow, Annie Grace, offering a range of support levels. Packed with resources, including a one-month free “Alcohol Challenge” stacked with information and inspiration (in 20-30 minute video segments) you work through at your own pace from the privacy of your own home. Lots of self-reflection in a gentle way involved and community chat if you are looking for connection with others. There are tiered programs offering higher levels of support and coaching at monthly subscription prices.
7 Days to Drink Less
Developed by Georgia Foster, this seven day program uses a mix of psychology, hypnotherapy and practical exercises that will help you reduce your drinking and build your self esteem.
30 Day Pause
A 30-day self-paced, meditation-centric approach to cutting down or quitting alcohol in the privacy of your own home, from Sydney-based Wise Monkey Way founder and meditation teacher Rory Kinsella.

Alcohol Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous hold over 2,000 local meetings across Australia. The meetings involve members sharing their “stories” and providing non-judgemental support to each other, with a pact of anonymity. Although it is based on the traditional 12-step program, it is not necessary for new members to accept all principles of the program; however, it is an expectation that members have the objective of living alcohol-free (ie: No not Lo).
Attendance at meetings is free and meetings are listed on the AA website.
SMART Recovery Australia
SMART Recovery Australia offer a massive range of meetings, mostly online, to give you a convenient way to connect, share and learn from others.
Meetings are free and guided by a trained facilitator.
SHARCs
SHARC supports over 12,000 individuals and families annually and our programs and services operate locally, across Victoria, and increasingly, nationally. They offer telephone and online support, education programs, counselling, peer support groups, residential recovery, consumer representation and workforce training.Â
Odyssey House
If you have a serious alcohol (or other drugs) addiction and need intense support from detox and counselling to financial planning and generally get your life back on track, intensive programs offered by Odyssey house may be your answer. Live in programs run from four weeks to eighteen months and some centres provide accommodation for couples and young families. You need a referral for these programs which are partially government funded. Visit the website highlighted for either NSW or VIC for more information.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation has a wide range of support services available across Australia. These include detox and withdrawal services, residential services, non-residential programs and primary health and harm reduction services.
