Venue in the Spotlight: Teller

Looking for alcohol free drinks Brunswick East locals can enjoy without settling for boring alternatives? Teller on Lygon Street offers a thoughtfully curated NoLo selection alongside Mediterranean inspired pub classics, making it a strong choice for mixed groups of drinkers and non drinkers.

NoLo Life founder Karina caught up with Nicole from Teller to learn more about the venue, its community focus and why inclusive hospitality has become such an important part of its drinks offering.

Why Teller Stands Out for Alcohol Free Drinks Brunswick East

Teller stands out for alcohol free drinks Brunswick East because its NoLo menu goes well beyond a single zero beer or soft drink. Guests can choose from non alcoholic cocktails, low and no alcohol beers, alcohol free wine and other thoughtfully selected options.

That approach makes Teller especially useful for groups where everyone wants something different. Whether someone is sober, driving, pregnant, taking a break from alcohol or simply choosing not to drink that day, the drinks menu still offers something that feels considered.

For anyone searching for alcohol free drinks Brunswick East, that level of choice helps make the overall experience feel more inclusive.

Tell us about Teller – what’s significant about the name and what inspired you to open Teller in Brunswick?

The name Teller is a nod to the building’s former life as a bank. We wanted a name that acknowledged the venue’s history while also capturing the idea of storytelling. Teller opened in Brunswick East because the area reflects the kind of energy we love, being diverse, creative and community-driven. It’s a neighbourhood that appreciates quality and individuality, and we felt there was room to offer something distinct yet welcoming.

What led you to be so non-drinker-inclusive?

We’ve always believed that great hospitality means making everyone feel seen and included. Non-drinkers often get overlooked or offered uninspired options, so we made it a priority to create an inclusive beverage list that’s just as thoughtful and curated as our wine and cocktail offerings. Whether someone’s sober, pregnant, the designated driver, or just not in the mood to drink, they shouldn’t feel like an afterthought. It’s about making sure everyone can have a complete and enjoyable experience.

What Alcohol Free Options Can You Find at Teller?

Teller’s current menu includes several non alcoholic cocktails, including the Free Spirit Spritz, Rumour Has It, Wildwood Shrub, Hedgerow Fizz and The Spritz You Miss. The venue also lists low and no alcohol beers such as Guinness 0.0% and Heaps Normal Quiet XPA, along with alcohol free wine options.

This variety is exactly what makes alcohol free drinks Brunswick East a useful search term for this article. Teller is not simply a restaurant that happens to carry one NoLo product. Its drinks list gives non drinkers genuine choice across cocktails, beer and wine.

Teller’s official website also positions the venue as an all day dining and drinks destination with pub classics, Mediterranean influences and an award winning non alcoholic selection.

I love the fact that you recognise that you don’t have to be a “non-drinker” to sometimes not want a drink!! So, let’s talk about food; what cuisine can diners expect at Teller and what are your most popular dishes?

Teller serves elevated pub classics with a Mediterranean twist. Think house-made schnitzels, gourmet burgers, premium steaks, fresh seafood, and seasonal share plates. Well, I have to say, your burgers are my personal favourite! I also love that you have the courtyard which is pet friendly, it’s cool that you are not only inclusive of those not wanting alcohol, but also the four legged variety! What else makes Teller special?
